"My primary focus is on structuring our investments and securing all of the capital necessary to close during the early stages of our transactions. After closing, my responsibility is to work closely with the CEOs by helping them with specialized projects to broaden their execution strategies. Our management teams rely on me to help them seek acquisitions, work on growth financings and to help develop an internal growth strategy. My assistance on these special projects enables our CEOs to remain focused on core operations, while capitalizing on new opportunities."

Prior to establishing Gatehouse Ventures, Karl was a Managing Director of CD Ventures, Berwyn, PA a private investment firm, where he was responsible for raising nearly $200 million in capital for its various portfolio companies. Prior to this experience, Karl was a Managing Director of John W. Loofbourrow Associates, Inc., New York, a boutique investment banking firm, where his focus was on private placement of debt and securitizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. Before joining Loofbourrow, Karl was a principal and Managing Director of American HealthFund, Inc., Berwyn, PA, an asset-based lender. Mr. Buettner began his career in the mortgage banking industry and served in various roles culminating as principal and Executive Vice President of Capitol Mortgage, Blue Bell, PA.

Karl serves on the Board of Directors for Bacton Investment Partners, Connective Holdings, LLC, D'Ambrosio Bakery, LLC, and Resource Associates Corporation. Mr. Buettner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University.
